Worsted Weight and Chunky Weight Yarn

Category 4 on the Craft Yarn Council chart, worsted weight yarn knits at 4 to 5 stitches per inch, usually on size US 7 to 9 needles.

Worsted weight and chunky yarns are popular because they knit up so quickly. While BBF spcializes in finer weights of yarn, we do stock a few thicker yarn for times when you feel the need for speed or extra warmth.

Superwash Merino Worsted
Superwash Merino Worsted is a thicker sibling to the fingering and DK versions, with the same delectable 100% superwash merino content, great stitch definition and a terrific hand. Knits at a worsted-weight gauge — 4 to 5 sts per inch on size US 7 to 9 needles — and one generous 400-yard hank will easily knit a scarf or baby sweater/cap combination. Contact BBF if you’re interested in a special order for sweater quantity.

Superwash Merino Chunky
Thickest member of the family, this 100% superwash merino yarn knits at 3.5 to 4 sts per inch, and comes in 235-yard hanks. Same superwash merino, firm twist and soft hand you love, but a thicker weight.
