When did this happen? (GIVEAWAY)

This month I am celebrating my 8th anniversary as a blogger. Yep, I went back and checked, and my blog posts started to appear (on my prior site) right around this time in 2005.

When I first dipped a toe into the blogging waters, I only knew that I liked to knit and I liked to write. I had a lot of opinions (some of which have changed, others not so much) and I was an outsider to an industry with which I was intrigued. Today I work in that industry and have therefore learned so much more about this weird wonderful world of yarn we’re all fascinated by. I’ve enjoyed blogging so much more than I anticipated when I started. And I’ve learned more than I ever thought I would, much of it stuff that I didn’t know I didn’t know.

So let’s have a little celebration this month. ย I’ll start with a giveaway.

I recently released a couple of new BBF patterns, including two new cowl patterns. This isย Barrowe, knit in two shades of a lush worsted weight yarn called Hannah by Lana Vida (kits are available at Loop, by the way).

Just enough colorwork to be interesting but not overwhelming.

This is Izora, knit with one skein of cushy Koigu Bulky in a simple scallop-y stitch:

(You can get Koigu Bulky and download the pattern at Loop as well. Or find the pattern alone on Ravelry.)

Leave a comment to this post with your Ravelry name and I’ll draw a winner and send him/her free PDF downloads of Barrowe and Izora — just in time for holiday knitting. ย Leave your comment no later than midnight, Sunday, Nov. 3rd, EST.

Thanks for reading — and here’s to the next eight years!
