Watercolor Beret

Originally published in Interweave Knits, this beret takes advantage of a self-striping sock yarn that slowly changes colors — but would look lovely in a solid or semi-solid fingering weight yarn, too.

 

yarn:
approx. 300 yds/275m) of self-striping sock or fingering-weight yarn (Category 1); sample shown in Skacel/Schoppel Wolle Zauberball, colorway #1872

needles and supplies:
US size 5 (4mm) circular needle, 16”/40cm cable, or size to get gauge
US size 2 (2.75mm) circular needle, 16”/40cm cable, or three sizes smaller than above
US size 4 (3.5mm) circular needle, 16”/40cm cable, or one size smaller than above
one set double-pointed needles, US size 4 (3.5mm) or one size smaller than above
