Giveaway winner

Thanks to everyone who left a comment entering the giveaway for Jean Moss’s new book. The lucky winner is Lisa, who wrote, “I love the stole and cable hats! I can”t wait to try them!” Lisa’s book is on its way…..check back frequently, because I’ve got another book review and giveaway coming up soon. (Why, yes, I am totally behind again on book reviews. Sigh. But my next one is a gorgeous one with two patterns knit in Black Bunny yarns — I think you’ll really love it.)

In a fun coincidence, Lisa is a member of the Common Cod Fiber Guild — where I spoke last weekend. My visit was delightful. It’s always a treat to go to Boston, and I got to stay right in Cambridge, at the charming Kendall Hotel.

You gotta love a hotel that has lamps with the Declaration of Independence on them.

I was right in the heart of MIT and even got to take a brief shopping trip to the Coop, where I picked up an MIT t-shirt for Boy Twin, who sometimes talks about studying robotics at MIT.

I was very excited to be speaking to this amazing group of fiber folks, and even more so when I found out I would be doing so from a room in the extremely cool Gehry-designed building on campus.

My stay was, alas, supershort, and I returned home the next day to tackle the bazillion projects that were waiting for me.

One of which was dyeing some fabulous yarn for my trip this weekend to Gosh Yarn It, where I’ll be selling BBF yarn and fiber today, and teaching a class tomorrow. Stop by if you live in the Wilkes-Barre area!

  1. WOW!!! I am SO EXCITED!! Who know this would happen? I, I, I can’t believe this. Crazy, just a few days ago, DH and I were checking out hat patterns. He likes ribbed and colorwork, and I love the cables. Thank you SO MUCH Carol! Thank you, Thank you!!
